Digital Extremes announced that the new Warframe open world Fortuna expansion will be available for free in November for PC. Warframe console debut is scheduled this Winter on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
FORTUNA: a new WARFRAME PS4, XBOX ONE and PC EXPANSION
The Warframe Fortuna expansion introduces a vast, frigid Venusian landscape, nearly five times bigger than Plains of Eidolon (last year’s Warframe open-world update), populated with specialized Corpus units, an alien ecosystem and subterranean mysteries.
Under Corpus rule, the Solaris live in terror of being repossessed by Nef Anyo’s repo squads.
Following the Solaris United faction’s in its struggle against their Corpus overlords, Tenno (players’ name in-game) will pick up bounties and missions underground in the Fortuna internment camp.
In this new Warframe expansion, using the new K-Drive hoverboard, you will explore new exotic terrain rich of Orokin structures, towering mushroom stands, and oceanic flora.
Here are all the details about the new Venus open-world expansion.
SAVE THE ANIMALS
One of the most interesting things that players can do is the animal saving.
In Warframe Fortuna players have to hunt and save animal species from the Corpus.
To save each animal you’ll find its footprints, attract it through a specific lure and when you are sufficiently close, shot the animal with a tranquilliser dart (purchasable in the Business hub area).
After done that successfully you only have to tag it and wait for a drone that will bring the animal to safety.
MINING AND FISHING
In Fortuna there many other activities like mini and fishing.
With the new Sunpoint Plasma Drill, that you can purchase at Smokefinger), you can mining fastly in all mineral deposits found around the Vallis.
After buying an electrified spear, players can catch the Servofish, a robotic fish that swim in the coolant lakes and rivers. You can use them for scrap parts or trade them.
K-DRIVE HOVERBOARDS
With this new expansion, a new vehicle has been introduced: the K-Drives overboard.
Made with stolen Corpus technology, the K-Drives are perfect for moving quickly around the mountain of the Vallis.
Your K-Drive is fully customisable with new different skins and equippable with K-Drive Mods to increase max speed, boost speed and more.
WARFRAME for NINTENDO SWITCH
Warframe will also come to Nintendo Switch on November 20th. The game, developed by Panic Button (Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Nintendo Switch ports) will run at 30 frames per second. According with Digital Extremes statement, that the Panic Button optimizations will be included in the Warframe PC build, helping lower end machines to run the game with better frame rates.
