President SEGA Isao Okawa, after the commercial failure of Sega Dreamcast, tried to keep Sega Dreamcast games alive by transferring them to Xbox.

Sega and Microsoft have tried several times to agree to transfer the Sega Dreamcast games on the first Xbox, without success. Okawa 's idea was to keep Dreamcast's users and keep them playing the Sega Dreamcast titles by transporting them on Xbox, also keeping online multiplayer.

Okawa sought an agreement with Bill Gates, but declined the offer preferring to bet on a different and exclusive lineup. The Sega financial crisis led to the total closure of the hardware division and Sega never had an official heir to the Sega Dreamcast.
