In this article, we'll take an in-depth overview at this new B760 motherboard, above all the design, features, internal connections, expansion slot until to the price to help you decide if it's the right motherboard for your next build.
BOX
When we open the box of the ASUS ROG STRIX B760 A GAMING WIFI D4, we'll find the motherboard of course, the user's manual. Moreover, two SATA 3 6 Gb/s cables, one thermal pad for M2, other things like one WiFi moving antennas, one cables ties set, one m2 rubber packages, one rog key chain, whital some ROG Strix stickers and one ROG Strix thank you card for our purchase.
DESIGN
Dimensionaly, the new Asus ROG B760 board is not small at all , it has an ATX form factor and it sizes 12 for 9,6 inches or 30,5x24,4 cm.
Exteriorly, the motherboard has a black and silver color scheme.
The thing that immediately catches the eye, the entire surface is characterized by many 80's game pixel art icons on PCB, io panel and also on m2 plate.
All components leans on rectangular black 6 layer PCB.
The colling solution is entrusted by five elements.
Specifically, two main heatsink, one for chipset and other two for m2 sockets.
The main, have the same cooling profile. Between these, the only difference is merely the dimensions.
The first of these is place place on top edge is large about 10 cm.
Whereas, on left of Cpu socket the other heatsinks is obiuvusly more long of the previous and it extends itself through an additionaly plastic cover along the the IO back panel.
On the top corner it is enriched with the ROG logo. Going down there are a dotted strix word, follow a serie of line and point that is a code morse message “BE BOLD”, then the motto “For those who dare” and a band, delimited by a black outline, with GAME ON word, a RGB ROG logo customazable via aura sync and a three small pixel arrow near the corner.
The third for covered area, shield the B760 chipset. Here, there are the large letters ROG word follow by a dotted band whre is visible a dotted ROG logo.
The remaing elements helps the M2 slot cooling. Also here, we find a dissimilar longness amid the two components.
And on the smaller has a print reciting phrase “Join the Republic”.
Finally, there is a nice extra, a little white rog on battery.
POWER DESIGN
Moving to the technical aspect.
To ensure the maximum efficiency and power necessary, the VRM layout is costituated by 12+1 digital power phases.
CPU SOCKET AND SUPPORT
The new B760 boards features the new Intel LGA 1700 Socket.
In addition to the B760 moterboard the last Intel socket is designed also for top range Z790
motherboards and for the new entrly level H770 mobos of which we’ll talked about in another video soon.
The Intel 1700 CPU socket supports the 13th Gen Intel Core cpu codenamed Raptor architecture processors, however, it’s backwards compatible with whatever previous 12th Gen Intel Core processors including Intel CORE, Pentium Gold and Celeron cpus.

MEMORY
The motherboard isn’t equipped with the latest generation of memory technology for PC, the DDR5, but with four DDR4 dimm dual channel memory architecture.
Compared with DDR5 memory, the DDR4 architecture provide lowest performance, lowest speed, to despite a price more budget friendly.
We can installing a minimum of 32 gig for single dimm memory module up to a maximum capacity of 128 Gig for all two dimm.
Operating base frequencies for memory can range from 2133 to 3200 MHz to the oveclocking frequecy of 5300 MHz.
INTERNAL CONNECTIONS
Moving on to the motherboard layout internal connections, starting from the left on top we’ve got a 4+8 PIN Atx 12v power connectors for our cpu, a cpu fan header, water cooling pump fan header, and a cpu optional fan header.
After, going down on the right, there are two addressable Gen 2 header, Q-LED with which see eventualy CPU, memory, graphic card or boot errors, a 24 PIN Atx main power socket connector, an USB 3.2 Gen 2 type c front panel header, a USB 3,2 Gen 1 connector, two sata 3 6 Gb/s ports and a chasssis fan header.
In the bottom, the first thing that we find is a system panel header, a thermal sensor header, other two sata 3 6gbs ports, two chassis fan header, two usb 2.0 ports, aura RGB header, two USB 2,0 header, com debug header, one addittionally addressable gen 2 led a thunderbboard header, a spdif out header, a clear CMOS header and front panel audio header.
Under the cpu socket, almost on the center of this B760 mobo, take place an another and also the last chassis fan header.
I/O BACK PANEL
On back, whereas, the io panel features firstly a display port, a hdmi port, even a series of four usb 2,0 ports, a BIOS FlashBack button, a Ethernet port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports, an USB 3.2 Gen 2 x2 Type C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports, two antenna ports, another USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, and the audio jacks including center subwoofer input port with orange colorway, line in input port with light blue finish, a rear speaker out in black, a line out out in lime color and a microphone input port with pink finish.
